Yoga brings unity of the breath, mind and body.
History of Yoga
Yoga translates to “Union” in Sanskrit. Yoga is a practice that brings you into your body, calms your mind & allows you to listen to your heart. Yoga brings unity to our breath, mind & body.
At Lionheart, we practice yoga as a discipline to maintain a balance in our lives. We make our practice fun, challenging, and suited to our personal needs. There are many ways to practice yoga.
Our practice involves pranayama (breath control), asana flow (different postures), and shavasana (meditation).
Practicing yoga is a beautiful way to lead a healthy life, full of contentment, empowerment & bliss. We strive to practice yoga on and off the mat.
Principles of Yoga
Pranayama: the practice of breathing.
Asana: the practice of holding and moving through postures.
Yamas: social ethics of kindness, truthfulness, nonstealing, moderation & generosity.
Niyamas: the personal practices of purity, contentment, austerity, self-study, and surrender.
Pratyahara: the practice of meditation
Dharana: concentrating the mind
Dhyana: sustained meditation through practice
Samadhi: a profound sense of belonging to the universe and oneness with the life force.
